Welcome to Vernelle's!

Welcome to Vernelle's Motel!

Since the late 1930s, Vernelle's Motel has provided Route 66 travelers with friendly service and reasonable prices in a historic setting. Conveniently located just off Interstate 44 about eight miles west of Rolla, Missouri, Vernelle's is a throwback to another time.

Ed and Choco.

Your host, Ed Goodridge, and his faithful sidekick, Chocolate, invite you to drop by for a taste of life in another era. While cars and trucks hurry past on the nearby interstate, you'll be snuggled under the covers, unencumbered by the trappings of today's hectic lifestyles. No e-mail, no phone, no remote control -- just a warm bed, a hot shower, and an old TV. Turn the dial to an "I Love Lucy" rerun or a Bogie and Bacall flick and let your surroundings take you back to a simpler time.

Your room awaits!

There's an alarm clock in your room to wake you up if you need it ... but somehow time seems less important out here on the old road. Wake up with the sun. Open the screen door and wander outside. Sit in a lawn chair and breathe the fresh morning air. Take a walk around the property ... or wander down the road a few feet to the remnants of John's Modern Cabins, a picturesque tourist court that served travelers for more than 30 years before it closed in the 1960s. A lot of Route 66 businesses went the way of John's Modern Cabins -- casualties of "progress" -- but Vernelle's hung on. Come on out and find out why!
